Taverns And Tales

What is Taverns and Tales? Taverns and Tales (TnT) is a tabletop role-playing game. When you play> > Taverns and Tales you slay monsters, solve puzzles, Duel to the death, sometimes even join full scale wars! Chapter 1- what you need to start playing You will need....die from 4 sided to 20 sided, a fantasy miniature(s), A, set, of paper buildings, and some blue stones. (this will value up to 18-30> > dollars total) Chapter 2-getting started You will need to set up the buildings and you will also probably want a board (optional) if you dont play with a board you can use a ruler and inches instead of spaces. Choose which figurine you wish to play or> > control.( each player may only control 1 character) Then place the> > characters where you wish the party to start. Now, each player, (except the narrorater, if the're is one) has to pick a class and race for their character. The classes are; Thief; Acc, 4 Def, 7 spd,5 stamina, 10 5 wpn, dagger +2 Acc, inflicts 3 damage. Armor, none, shield, none. Special Ability, Thieving, may take 1 item from any dead corpse. Bard, Acc, 5 stamina, 13 Def, 7 spd, 4 wpn, guitar +0 Acc, inflicts 4> > damage. Armor, none. shield, none. Special ability, War music +2 Acc, for all party members. can be used once per 3 turns. Bounty Hunter, Acc, 5 stamina, 15 Def, 8 spd, 3 wpn, War Axe, -1 Acc, inflicts 7 damage. Armor, none. shield, none. Special Ability, Bounty, roll a 6 sided die a fter you kill a monster. If it lands on a six, roll a 4 sided die. Multiply that number by 35 and the answer is how much silver shillings your character just gained.Wizard Acc, 4 Def, 6 stamina, 9 spd, 2 wpn, fireblast +3 Acc inflicts 7 dmg. Armor, none,> Shield, none. Special Ability, Cast Magic, can attack target 4 spaces away. Fighter, Acc, 5 Def, 7 stamina, 14 spd, 3 wpn, Broad sword +2 Acc inflicts 5 damage. Armor, none> > shield, none. Special Ability, Charge, If this character moves in a straight line and then attacks his target, deal 1 extra damage to target. Bowman, Acc, 5 def, 6 stamina, 12 spd, 4 wpn, shortbow, +3 Acc, Inflicts 3 damage, armor none, shield none, special Ability, ranged attack, can attacktarget 3 spaces away. Chapter 3-finally playing first of all you will need a quest to play. I know what ur thi nking "i just spent 25 freggin dollars on some crap and now i gotta spend more!" no you don't. All you have to do is keep reading and you'll get a quest inside the rules. So let's play! Ok first decide someone to read the adventure to you or you can use the 1-player version quest. Yes, unlike many other games you don't have to drag your friends out of their "fun" lives to play. I will explain this later, for now just read the quest. (also the narrorater controls the monsters are non player people in the game) Troubled Village you have been walking for hours and are very tired. The rain drenches your clothing, which isn't helping the fact that you're very cold. You see some smoke coming out of an old inn down the road, along with some cozy cottages with smoke coming out of their ever-warm houses. You are more detirmined to get to the village now. Note: t he players must reach the the village inn which is 20 spaces away or, 20 inches away, before the next "leg" of the adventure begins. each character may move his or her speed value except in spaces or inches. Example, isengal has 3 speed. he can move 3 spaces. However, a character cannot move where something else is. When a character sees a monster or person in a town, inn, or somewhere else, and wants to attack it, he can. Whoever has the most spd, goes first in a battle. Then the character can move, and then attack if possible. When a character attacks something he rolls a die whos highest number is closest to his Acc value. Combine the number with your Acc number and if the total combined number is more than the defending monsters Def, rating, he succesfully made a blow. Then subtract how much damage your weapon can inflict from the defnding monsters stamina. If he has no stamina left he is dead, turn the, character/monster's token upside down, to show that he is dead. when the characters are moving and are not yet 3 squares away from a building, after every character has moved, roll a six sided die. if it lands on a six or a 5 then choose a monster from the special book for this quest and place a blue stone where you think the monster should appear. when the adventurers enter the village they find that their eyes have decieved them. The smoke coming from the houses and inn was not chiminey smoke...It was smoke from a fire, all the cottages, inns, smithys, and other buildings were on fire. the only building not burnt up is the inn. In the middle of the towns stood a man, an orc warchief, shouting "Slay them all! burn the houses, they must not escape! I want to be king over this flatland! Burn the human settlements, i want only orc buildings here!" Suddenly the warc hief spots you. "Hahahahaha! You think you can fight me? Hah! I can take you without my armies!" the warchief starts toward you, about 20 feet (inches or spaces)away. If you kill the warchief all the orcs run away. when he has 5 health left he calls for 2 orcs to come help him. 2 orcs appear about 3 spaces (or inches) away.(1 player readers stop reading. Hint: start reading again when you enter a the only building thats not burned up.) the orcs have tied up some captives in the inn. If the players enter they have 3 turns before the building burns. they can carry the captives but it halfs their speed. If the characters exit the buildings before it burns, with the captives, they are rewarded with 4 shields, by the blacksmith they just rescued. (+2 defense , shield) If you fail, trying to kill the warchief ot any other monster, then its as if, the adventure never happened. if they don't make it out before it burns, they are rescued by the captives. ( only if they cut the captive's ropes.) Narrorater only note: the players can cut the ropes, but don't tell them this!Monster book(for this quest only) orc acc, 2 def, 7 spd, 3 stamina, 7. wpn, +0 acc, dagger inflicts 3 damage. A.I. when no one wants to play with you, just use the die system ive made. when a monster appears, roll a 4 sided die. this will determine what he does. 1-2 attacks, if the monster is out of range of the nearest enemy (you) to attack, roll again. 3-4 move, after you roll this roll the die again. 4= move spd value of squares (or inches) 3, move his spd value to the right of him, or until he hits a wall or something. 2, move left, 1 move down. Thats about all of the rules so far, if you would like a free quest just email me at zeldagamer1@yahoo.com Thanks and keep on gaming!
